JUST A LITTLE UPDATE ON G-MAN:
His new words are "dog", "hot", and "sock". He also likes to point his finger at Jeremy and I and tell us "NO"!
He's growing like a weed! He has a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so I will update with his height and weight next week.
He can now officially open and close all of the doors in our apartment...fun stuff! The only door he hasnt opened is the front door because we ALWAYS keep it locked.
He's still a little too short to get up on our couches on his own, but he can easily get down! He CAN climb into the rocking chair though...just another thing for him to hurt himself on! Ohhh the joys of having an exploring toddler :)
He still loves bath time and can now almost climb in the tub on his own. (I wouldnt say thats a good thing though because he scares Jer and I when he tries to climb in HEAD FIRST!)
Recently I moved his collection of books to his little rocking chair in his room so that he could look at them if he wanted. Little did I know I would be reading him a book every 5 minutes! Unfortunately, I never got into the habit of reading him a bedtime story, but I think Im going to have to start! He LOVES to sit in my lap and read books :)
He knows his first spanish word! Zapatos! He cant say it yet, but he knows it means shoes!

Since we've been back in California we havnt really been up to much. The weather has been pretty good (other than these past 2 weekends), so when we get the chance we go play outside or just walk around. Im looking forward to the warmer weather, hopefully it comes back soon, because I would love to take Gavin to the zoo! Maybe next month we will be able to go :)
I'll leave you with a few random pictures I have taken of our growing 16 month old! Dinner for Mommy's 22nd birthday!

Better Late Than Never!

Well, now that it's almost March I have decided it's finally time to update our blog! Last time I blogged was right before Christmas, so here are our photos from all of our Christmas festivities !
Before we went home we had to decorate our mini-tree!

We finally made it to Texas a few days before Christmas!
Here's a pic of the cousins on Christmas Eve :)
The kids making cookies for Santa!

Opening presents from his aunts & uncles
This year Gavin wasnt really into opening presents. He would get them then set them down and go play with something else. Next year he'll know whats going on!
My only picture I got on Christmas morning because my camera died! :(
Christmas Day was a BUSY day for us!
First, we did Christmas morning at home (Jeremy's parents house). Then we all packed up and went to The Junction to do Christmas with the Pimentels!
Gavin thought that bucket of beer was his...He definitely takes after his daddy!!
Hitting the pinata with the help of Aunt Les :)
Later that day, we saw my mom's side of the family and celebrated with them!
Here he is opening his present from Aunt Amanda.
Then, last but not least, we went to my dad's house that night!
Gavin got a wagon from Grammy and Papa!
Gavin was in desperate need of a haircut, so while we were home we visited Ryan for a quick trim!
Every year I hear everyone talking about Santa's Wonderland. I had never been and neither had Gavin, so we decided to head up there before it was closed for the year!
Here's our family picture :)
All of us on the hayride looking at all the lights!
Gavin loved the petting zoo :)
Before we left, we also saw my step-dad's family. I wasnt too sure if Gavin would like the 4-wheeler or not, but as you can see he wasnt screaming! He had so much fun riding with Grandpa!
Daddy & Gavi opening presents :)

We had a lot of fun being home for a few weeks celebrating Christmas and the New Year with family and friends! As always, Gavin really enjoyed being able to play with all of his cousins and see his grandparents, aunts, and uncles. We cant wait to go back and visit again! :)

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas :)

I was so excited to get Gavin's pictures taken with Santa this year...Unfortunately, he wasnt so thrilled. We decided to do a family picture first because maybe he wouldnt be so scared of Santa! We were able to snap one of him NOT crying....And then once we got up he started screamingggg!! We ended up getting the family picture, but we had to go back because I just loved this one of Gavin and Santa. Both of their faces are priceless :)

Happy Holidays Everyone!

See you all soon!

A little bit of everything....

Hello Everyone!! We have been enjoying our first couple of weeks in San Diego, and we cant wait until it gets a little warmer so we can go out and about and do more things!
Here are a few pictures of what we've done so far...And of course some random ones of Gavin :)

This year we had Thanksgiving dinner on our own in California! I had never made a whole Thanksgiving meal on my own, so I was a little worried about everything turning out. Luckily, it all tasted GREAT! I made turkey, gravy, corn, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pecan pie.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
On Black Friday we decided to skip the shopping and go see one of the beaches nearby. We went to Ocean Beach, CA. I was very surprised to see people out surfing because is was 60 degrees outside. Gavin wasnt being very photogenic that day!

Later that day, we got out the Christmas tree and started decorating! Of course, Gavin just wanted to play with the ornaments...I got a little help out of him!

Such a cute little helper :)

I Almost Forgot!

Here is Gavin's First Year video that I made. I played it at his birthday party, but not until late because I forgot all about it!
ENJOY :)

Marine Corps Ball 2010

November 10 is the Marine Corps birthday, so every year in November each squadron has a ball to celebrate. We werent sure if we were going to be able to go because we just got to California 4 days before the ball, but we got everything worked out while we were in Texas so we were able to go!
HAPPY 235th BIRTHDAY MARINES!!!

We had a lot of fun and they told us Gavin did great at childcare! His teacher said he helped her lay out the pillows for the big kids to sleep on...What a cute little helper!
