4 Months Later....

WOW! This post is longggg overdue! I didnt realize it had already been over 4 months since I've updated our blog! A lot has happened since October, so let me give you a quick update....
  • November- We were able to be in TX again for Gavin's (2nd) birthday! We had so much fun seeing Gavin play with all his friends & cousins at his party. His car party was a success!
  • December- This year for Christmas, we decided to stay in California to have our own family Christmas traditions. Everyone sent Gavin's presents here, so he got to open them all like a regular Christmas. He was a lot more interested in presents this year, compared to last year! He got cars, trucks, trains, legos, and much MORE!
  • January- At the beginning of January Jeremy, Gavin, and I went on our first family vacation to Disneyland! Its only about an hour and a half drive from San Diego, so it wasnt a far vacation. GAVIN (and Jeremy and I) HAD A BLAST!!! We plan on going back later in the year so we can see the new Cars Land they are making! Jeremy also got promoted to SGT. this month! I am so proud of him :)
  • February- Jeremy and I went on a late (3 and a half years late!) honeymoon to Las Vegas! Jeremy's mom flew to San Diego to watch Gavin while Jer and I drove to Vegas and stayed for a few days. We absolutely loved it and we really enoyed spending quality time with just the two of us :) We are already thinking about our next trip back!

Gavin Update:

  • He is growing up way too fast for Jeremy and I! He will be 2 and a half in less than 2 months :(
  • He is talking NON STOP! He learns new words every day and is remembering more animal sounds, numbers, colors, and shapes.
  • He's wanting to do things on his own a lot more too, but if he needs help he will definitely let us know!

I will try to make more of an effort to update our blog more often! I was doing so well and then things got busy and I completely forgot about it! I hope everyone at home is doing great; we miss and love you all!

Halloween Fun!

Sorry it's been so long! We have been busy lately, with the holidays (Halloween & Gavin's birthday) and being home for a while, I havent been able to blog! Here's a little catch up for the month of October...
  • The second weekend in October we took Gavin to Bates Nut Farm. I was told about this place from a lady at my doctor's office. She said it's really fun for the kids because there is a lot to do, so we had to go see for ourselves. We ended up having a lot of fun! Gavin got to feed animals at a petting zoo, drink homemade lemonade, go on a hayride, and pick out his own pumpkin! He had a blast :)
  • Towards the end of October my great-grandmother passed away, so Gavin and I headed to Texas a little earlier than planned. Although this was a sad reason to visit home it meant that we would be able to spend Halloween with my family. We went to my dad & step-mom's house (just like we did last year for his 1st Halloween), and Gavin got to trick-or-treat with his cousins Kylie and Ashtyn! He had a blast getting all his candy!

Here are some of the pictures from our Happy Halloween :)

Sea World- September 2011

As most of you know, we took Gavin to Sea World a few weeks ago. He LOVED it! He got to see tons of animals, feed the sea lions, ride rides, and watch Shamu's show! The weather was perfect and beautiful! We got there when they opened and left around 3pm, and he was passed out before we got out of the parking lot! Here are some pictures of our day...Enjoy :)

Gavin and I on his first amusement ride ever! He wasnt sure about it at first, but once we started spinning he had so much fun! Gavin and Jeremy on the "Elmo's Flying Fish" ride!
At the aquarium

We got to feed the sea lions (actually Jeremy did all the feeding!). It was so funny to see how crazy the sea lions got when they saw we had food. They started making noises and one actually raised it's hand until Jeremy threw it a fish!

Looking at the dolphins :)

Of course, we couldnt leave without getting a cool souvenir. Jeremy and I searched the gift shop for anything that had wheels and we found a Sea World truck w/ trailer! Gavin was SO HAPPY to have a new truck to play with!

Gavin and Jer in the polar bear cave! The polar bear exhitbit was very realistic. They actually keep it super cold so you can see how the climate really is for the bears. They also had a wall of ice that you could touch.

Gavin wasnt too thrilled with all the characters they had running around, BUT when he saw Elmo he immediately pointed and tried to get out of the wagon so he could go see him! Once we got up there he was still a little unsure, but before we left he gave Elmo a five and told him bye :)

Sea Turtles!

All three of us had a blast and we cant wait to go back again! Our next trip will be to the San Diego Zoo!

Busy Times...

It's been a while since I have posted...It seems like this past month has been so busy!

Jeremy was gone for 2 and a half weeks in August and then once he got back we started packing because we moved to a new apartment this past month. These last couple weeks we have just been getting used to our new place. We also took Gavin to Sea World for the first time!! He had SO MUCH FUN! Jeremy and I had lots of fun as well! Oh, we also got a puppy! She is so sweet and Gavin is in love with her!

Later this month we celebrate Halloween and then a few days later we will be flying to Texas! We will be home for Gavin's 2nd birthday and then we are also going to Dallas for the Cowboys game! We are VERYYYY excited :)

I will leave you with a picture of our "almost 2-year-old"!

My Life

Over the past few weeks, I have realized how much older and independent Gavin is getting. He is trying to repeat a lot more words and he is letting us see his personality even more. If he wants something he will bother you until you get it for him and he loves to watch movies. He is totally OVER his "little kid" toys and pretty much only plays with cars, trucks, or anything that has wheels. He is definitely ALL BOY!!

Every time Jeremy or I get up from the couch Gavin will run as fast as he can to get our "spot", and he thinks it hilarious! He also fakes sleeping when we need to change his diaper, get him dressed, or if we call his name for anything. He will run and lay down on the couch and make a snoring sound...Its so cute but I have no idea where he got it from!

We havent quite started the Potty Training Journey yet; I think he still has a little while before we start that! He loves eating fruit and would eat it for every meal if I let him. Anytime he wants some he runs to the fridge and when I open it he grabs the container of strawberries and grapes. This kid knows what he wants and is not afraid to let you know! We've been lucky enough that Gavin is usually pretty good about taking naps and going to bed. He knows when it is time to go to bed that Mommy & Daddy need hugs & kisses first! I cant get enough of those sweet kisses and loving hugs :)

Overall, Jeremy and I are very blessed to have such a smart, healthy, and sweet baby boy...although he's not a baby anymore! I still cannot believe he will be 2 years old in less than three months!

And now, I will leave you with a picture of our handsome man....

Our Trip to the Firestation :)

Today we got to go to the firestation on base and look at all the firetrucks! They always have fun little events for kids on base, so we decided to take advantage and check it out. My friend Brittany and her son Connor (he is 4 months younger than Gavin) went too.

Its pretty hard to get a good picture of these 2 because they never wanna look at the same time!

Once they were done showing all of their tools and equiment, all of the kids got to shoot the water hose! They all loved it :)

Gavin wasnt too sure at first, but then he got into it.

Everyone got their own helmet and fire safety info!

This was in the movie room...There were rows of these big recliners. Of course, the boys loved sitting in them!

I think Gavin's favorite part was sitting in the front seat of one of the firetrucks. He didnt want to get out!

Speedy Sunday!

Just Wanted To Do A Quick Post Of Our Park Day This Weekend :)

LOVE this smile!

Gavin is growing so fast and he's starting to act more like a big kid lately! He is talking more (only when HE wants to) and is becoming more independent. He thinks he needs to do everything himself and he's such a Momma's Boy! I cant believe our little Baby G will be 2 in three short months! Where does the time go?!? The next time we are home he will be a completely different kid!
